Design of the technical management of occupational health and safety

ABSTRACT
The technical management of occupational health and safety makes it possible to identify, evaluate and control occupational risks. In industries there is simultaneous exposure to mechanical, physical, environmental and ergonomic risks. The objective was to design a technical management system to control occupational risk factors at BIOMAX C.L. in Riobamba. A descriptive, documentary and field study was carried out, with a mixed approach and a census of 20 workers. Direct observation, a risk matrix, the NTP330 and various ergonomic methods were applied. A total of 267 risk situations were identified, where economic and physical risks predominated with 57.3%. The packing house as well as the bus hopper and the bus area were the priority areas. A nine-component preventive plan was designed. The company requires an organized, documented and continuous management oriented to control at the source as well as the environment and the worker.
