Abstract

ABSTRACT

The general objective of this research was to analyze school coexistence and the culture of peace in Colombia, considering the challenges and opportunities. The methodological scope was based on a post-positivist-descriptive documentary design. This method combined the objectivity of the positivist approach with the analysis of existing sources in databases such as Scopus, Scielo and Redalyc. As a result, it was found that the achievement of a culture of peace has not been based solely on government policies or formal agreements, but on the daily commitment of each person to coexist harmoniously. Therefore, it was concluded that school coexistence has required a collective effort that, through dialogue, empathy and constructive conflict resolution, could lay the foundations for a future in which peace is a palpable reality in each classroom and, therefore, in the whole of Colombian society.
