Prevention of chronic kidney disease and quality of life in Peruvian patients

Objective: To analyze how each dimension of KDPP II (awareness, assessment, access) influences each dimension of quality of life in patients treated at a regional hospital in La Libertad, Peru in 2025. Methods: Cross‑sectional study with 140 patients enrolled in KDPP II. Validated questionnaires were applied; descriptive analyses, Spearman correlations and ordinal logistic regression were performed; ORs, 95% CIs and Nagelkerke R² were reported. Results: Evaluation showed the greatest explanatory capacity, especially for mental health (higher R² and significant ORs). Awareness was significantly associated with better self‑perception. Access showed positive trends in self‑perception but less consistent effects with wide CIs. Conclusions: Strengthening clinical evaluation and educational interventions appears to be a priority to improve quality of life; longitudinal studies and adjusted models are required to confirm causality and strengthen recommendations.
